* No surgery.

* No Endoscopy.

* No Anesthesia

* Just RESULTS!

Success in 4 months.

The Allurion gastric balloon, in contrast to other balloons, is compressed into a tiny capsule that is attached to a thin catheter, and after being swallowed, it is then inflated with 550 mL of liquid through the catheter to produce a feeling of fullness and aid in controlling hunger.

It can be done without surgery or endoscopic implantation and removal in about 20 minutes as an outpatient treatment, potentially saving time and money. The balloon is made to empty after about 4 months by a valve that opens on its own, and the balloon is subsequently passed in the stool.

Meta-Analysis Shows 12.2% Average Weight Loss Across Studies

The balloon has been used all across the world but has not yet received US Food and Drug Administration certification (FDA).

In a recent meta-analysis, the authors used data from to identify seven out of 273 published articles that satisfied the analysis criteria.

In terms of BMI improvements, the findings revealed that the weighted average percentage of total body weight reduction during treatment across the studies was 12.2%, and the pooled mean difference from baseline through to the end of the investigations was 0.88 (P =.001).

Among all Allurion studies, the average excess body weight decrease was 49.1%.

Adverse Events Appear Lower vs Other Balloons

Potential dangers related to the Allurion balloon; in comparison to other balloons, the pooled rate of adverse events was comparatively low.

It is noteworthy that Allurion's meta-analysis studies did not identify any occurrences of acute pancreatitis or fatalities.

The type of anti obesity treatments should be tailored to the patient by a multi-disciplinary team.
